I've been slowly backing away from GaiaOnline (www.gaiaonline.com ) and have been giving some serious thought to spending my Gaia Gold (granted, a lot of my wealth is in old donation/monthly collectable items) on art commissions of my original characters.
There are plenty of artists advertising on the site (and it's perfectly legal with Gaia TOS to be able to spend Gaia Gold/items on user-created artwork).
However, not only have I had bad luck with my last attempts with artists actually following through on promised artwork that I arranged for on the site (maybe a 50% success rate of people who actually finished the artwork vs those who tied up my funds for months before either cancelling or just dropping off the map). In addition, I don't want to log onto the site every day to check for PMs - last time I almost quit the site, that's what drew me back in XD. So I'd rather arrange the commissions through DA or email, and communicate in that fashion, and I can log on to Gaia to start/complete the trades. I also used to run a BUNCH of art contests on the site - and those were awesome in their hayday, but over the years, and a lot of other users running bad contests (picking friends, not giving out all the prizes, or making otherwise questionable decisions) - art contests don't get a lot of entries any more.
SO! I'm looking for talented artists who are willing to accept gaia items/gold in payment to draw my original characters. Contact me, we can come to a price that you're happy with, and I will start the trade with you on Gaia. Once the art is complete (and you can send me a super-watermarked thumbnail or whatever) I will log back into Gaia and complete the trade
