Inktober Piece: Capwolf! by arania Inktober Piece: Capwolf! by arania
Happy HOWL-oween!
Okay, so while I unfortunately simply don’t have the time to do a daily inktober piece, I made sure to find the time for at least one Inktober piece - and I couldn’t think of a more fun way than to do something that blends my favorite holiday, Halloween, werewolves, and my Cap/Marvel obsession.  So here we go: Capwolf!!
Because how could I not? ;)
Had a lot of fun with this one!   I did put a basic photoshop gradient/texture backdrop, but the raw scan of the traditional media is
Here

Tell me, what do you think of Captain America X Black Widow?

Not my favorite ship, but I can see there being merit there.  I do prefer them as really close platonic friends, though.

Do you know what they have in common?

Natasha and Steve?  Depends on the version of the characters.  Like, I know in the comics, Natasha has an "infinity serum" which is like a watered down version of the super soldier serum, but that's not the case in the MCU.

Yes, in the comics she has been gifted with a Russian variant of the Super-Soldier-Serum. It has metabolized and permanently enhanced all of her bodily functions to beyond the peak of human potential like with Captain America. She is another example of what a scientist in the Marvel universe described this potential as being "the next step in human evolution," while still remaining completely human. None of their abilities would weaken. Both are intelligent, strong, fast, agile, and durable as possible for humans being to be without being considered superhuman. Both will remain permanently young and have powerful healing factors. One downside is that they cannot have children with normal people and only with ones of the serum like each other (and also mutants & Gods possibly). Know all that?

It's even based on something that actually happened in the comics :)

Amusingly, during a recent story arc of the Sam Wilson Captain America comic, he did become an anthro wolf. marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_…

Yup!  I read through that run - it was an entertaining call-back to the classic CapWolf Story.  Also, during the recent Secret Wars run, Spider-Island had Steve Rogers as Capwolf again :)

No worries! :) I do recommend Spider-Island - it's a little silly, but a lot of fun, and just 5 issues.

So many years... and I still curse myself for missing that comic.
And I don't even remember why I didn't buy it.

Well, the story's available as a graphic novel/TPB now at least :)
